Description:

In this after school project about 40 children between 4-16 years find a shelter. Most of them are from very poor families where unemployment, alcoholism and abuse are common problems. Children come to the project in the afternoon, to play games, do homework, learn a bit of English or play soccer. Every week they get a free hot shower.
Between mid December and March public schools in Cusco are closed and much more children attend the project. During this time the project is open in the mornings as well.

Activities:

Help children with their homework, organize creative activities, teach English and play soccer.

Requirements:

Motivation and enthusiasm in working with children and an ability to work independently.

Minimum:

4 weeks

Work Schedule:

Monday through to Friday from 3 till 6 pm.

2 volunteers at a time – from December until March: 4 volunteers at a time.
